Plautdietsch word of the day: frie'joah

Plautdietsch word of the day: frie'joah

Pronounced: free-yo-a

What is sounds like: a type of yoga

What it really means: yesteryear \ the olden days.

Example: Leina and Heins’ 4 year old granddaughter was trying to explain what the Treble Teens were. “Friejoa, my grama used to be a singer in a Mennonite band called the Tweble Teens, they were like The Spice Girls, only my grama is better, because she sings and makes cookies too!

Harvesting was from the far back olden days!  But the 70s are now also considered frie'joah by some :-)  Here’s a great hoodie for all those who remember “The Spice Girls” of Steinbach…..the Treble Teens. :-)   Keep the name and the memories alive with this nostalgic hoodie!
