Plautdietsch word of the day: wofeliesa

Pronounced: vo-ful-ee-sa

What it sounds like: A name for a walking doll.

What it means: waffle iron.

The one pictured here is of the earliest design that fit over the largest hole on a wood burning cook-stove. The "Mennonite" variety are thinner than Belgian waffles and are served with that famous white sauce!
